Anti Prophet Muhammad Comment lands Shah Rukh Khan in Trouble
Mumbai, June 19, 2009: An allegedly anti Prophet Muhammad comment lands Shah Rukh Khan in trouble. An FIR has been filed against the top Bollywood actor in a comment attributed to him.
A Mumbai based NGO Mumbai Aman Committee (MAC) filed an FIR after it asked Shah Rukh Khan to take back his comment.
The comment was purportedly made in an interview in a magazine Time & Style.
Bandra police station registered an FIR against the top Bollywood actor last night. According to police sources, the complaint was lodged by an advocate named Khalid Babu Querishi. In his FIR against Shah Rukh, the advocate stated the actor has used some unacceptable language against Prophet Mohammed in the July issue of Time and Style magazine.
Shah Rukh Khan in the interview to the magazine compared the Prophet Mohammad to negative figures in history, such as Hitler. In addition to Shah Rukh Khan, the compliant was logged against the publisher and the writer of Time and Style magazine. Querishi stated that such kind of remarks from the actor has hurt the entire Muslim community. The police said that the actor will be arrested soon and could be sent to jail for 3 three years if convicted.
The actor’s unacceptable remark sparked anger among the Muslim community. According to Farid Sheikh, the president of Mumbai Aman Committee, a religious organization, the actor’s body would not be allowed to be buried anywhere in Maharashtra. The secretary of the committee, Zarar Qureshi stated that actor has hurt the entire Muslim community by listing the Prophet as one of the most unimpressive personalities in history.
If the case is proved, Khan could go to jail for three years, police said. Khan is presently in the United States and his statement would be taken when he returns; he will not be arrested immediately, said Senior Police Inspector Prakash George.
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan said that everything has been misinterpreted and added that his most important objective in life is to stand up for the tenets of Islam. The actor is currently in US for shooting Karan Johar’s ‘My Name Is Khan’.

This is almost the dozenth time I’m writing this on facebook and hither thither! Our youth seldom does research before putting up something like this and that too, just half portion of the truth! Brother(s), its too soon to write hate stories and comments all of a sudden, esp. prior to analyzing both sides of the picture!!! I do NOT advocate SRK at all, I personally dislike him for many reasons but the fact is, since he has denied the allegation(s) while blaming the controversy as TYPING ERROR by the Magazine (http://www.timenstyle.com/luxury/interview.html) and since the Magazine itself has apologized (indian media & newspapers) for misprinting while correcting the text already (http://www.timenstyle.com/luxury/interview.html), we should NOT react just-like-that, emotionally and illogically! To a glorious nation like ours, it does NOT suit to be a way to life!
Moreover: the response from SRK also includes the following:
“Obviously I think that there is no more important figure in history than Prophet Mohammad in the most positive way possible. Also, being a Muslim and standing up for the tenets of Islam is my most important agenda. If they (MAC) have seen my interviews on TV about Islam and Prophet Mohammad, they would know it’s a writing error and not a thought or view that I believe in…” Shah Rukh told IANS!

I am Humza Tariq from Karachi, Pakistan. I heard this news today first i was shocked to hear that SRK said such thing and i was really angry. But to all Muslims if you have read HOLY QURAN never say anything about any one until you are not sure. So by hearing the news and listing to comments just wait till the full story come out. And if you guz have read QURAN it clearly tells that you are not the authority to do any thing. The governemtn will file the case in court and if he is guilty he will get what he will deserve here and in hell. But if court release him and even from inside he is guilty he will burn in hell and we are no one to do anything for it. And if you are so angry to stand and abuse SRK i just suggest you all to kindly study and work hard and become popular in any field and then tell every one around the world to listen a true Muslim voice. Dont waste your time just work hard and INSHALLAH you all will achieve great success.
I am 23 years old quite young and working really hard to earn for my self and family but from inside i wish to be the most powerful person in the world so that all humans can give attention to listen to Muslims.

In India, everybody has right to say whatever he think right.
Muslims should not blow such things as they may add fuel in Indian Hindu communities and may increase riligios blind ness.

A person is innocent until proven guilty. Shah Rukh has not been proven guilty yet. Also, a defendant should be given a full opportunity to defend himself. It is premature to make any comments.
Have all said does not mean that I am defending Shah Rukh Khan. He should be punished to the fullest extent of law if found guilty. Until then we should hold our comments and judgement.
I will also be hurt and disappointed if it turns out to be true.
I hope SRK is beyond these local FIR’s and these local Mumbai based NGO Mumbai Aman Committee (MAC).
And what ever it may be…. I am sure that he is very much safe… And he is an Indian, and according to Pakistanis he is an Indian muslim and a non-believer, So why are you worrying about SRK and who are you to condemn him? We have Indian muslim for that…
