New Air Chief Appointment & JF17 Contract – Another Shameful Corruption
I just came across two news which I couldn’t resist despite the fact that I was writing about the current bigger event of judicial restoration. Below are those;
New Air Chief Appointment
Rao Qamar Salman has been appointed as new Air Chief of Pakistan. Below is the article written by well know columnist Javed Chaudry discussing quite alarming phenomenon in this event.

Vice Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Shahid Latif is one of the latest victim of external pressures over Government . He has been the competent person with having “sword of owner”, many trophies. He was also one of the few pilots sent for the training of F16 to US in 1983.
He has been given the charge of development of JF17 thunder aircraft as joint venture with CATIC a private commercial firm of China. This project was first initiated In Benazir Bhutto’s Government in 1984 but couldn’t completed because of political instability. This project was required because Pakistan had been under sanction due the Afghan War and all this Terrorism issue. Existing aircraft were getting old and It has become a real threat that our Air force could become DEAD practically.
By the Grace of God, we stunned the world by flying first JF17 in July 2003. Mr. Shahid has been called the A.Q. Khan of JF17.
Story of Corruption in Deal
As per the original contract 58% of development will be done in Pakistan and 42% would be done in China. Pakistan had to make 250 aircrafts, with 5 fleets of 50 aircrafts. But then an influence of existing officer from Sindh Jatoi and some invisible powers involved and from NO WHERE WE HAVE DECIDED TO COMPLETELY BY THIS FROM CATIC with the 6% of interest. First fleet was of cost 1 Billion with 10 Billion of deal in total. Pakistan Air Force previously bought Aviation system at 1.5% interest rate. Keeping another fact in mind that, it was late 2008, where all over the world due the economic decline, interest rates are also on fall even in US and Japan.
This indicates very abnormal circumstance in this deal. It has been signed in March 2009, and it will be completed in 3 years.

Air Chief Appointment
There is another sorrow side of the story, After Mr. Tanveer Mehmood Ahmad, Mr. Shahid was direct choice for Air Chief because of his seniority and also he has been the vice chief which has been always important for becoming air chief.
But In January 2009, he was dropped from the list due the direct influence of an ambassador of a BIG Country ( You can guess where it could belong… US ).
Influence in this major decision making shows that how dangerously these ambassadors are involved in important matters of this country, and they can bring and down any person they think suites or against them.
My Thoughts!
Well I am practically speechless in this matter, I have written this post many days ago but couldn’t post, because I don’t wanted to believe it. But another story provoked me to publish this any way, which is aircraft belonging to Russia crossed our air space and landed in India, who intercepted it.
With all this malfunctioning and corruption even in these type of sensitive matters, how can we expect these forces to defend. We have practically become banana republic. We have Arm Forces just to kill their own people in Balochistan & NWFP visibly and all over the country by capturing people and increasing the count of missing people.
In the end, its the responsibility, stand up and speak about all these bullshits going on before its too late.
PS: According to the author of story, Mr. Shahid Latif is also willing to come to any forum to validate this story himself.

Sad! Majority of our Armed forces are sincere, but the government doesnt let those sincere elements to come at top under the orders of there masters. And in result as the author said “We have Arm Forces just to kill their own people in Balochistan & NWFP visibly and all over the country by capturing people and increasing the count of missing people. ”
I myself have met many people related to armed forces in last couple of months, they are very worried! One of them said even Kyani is an American agent.

There are very strong bonds betwen our Nation and PAF and I think it is written with malicious intention in public only to diss-apoint the Nation. The only aim seems to make his friend happier by publishing the material of his desire and the writer himslf seems to have gained some of his benefits etc. Beacause Mr.Shahid Latif was found to be involved in some political activities which ultimately resulted in his downfall.
The only criteris for the procedure of promotion in PAF is Merit and none other.

let me be clear… i am a die hard patriot and die hard supporter of the pakistan armed forces but where reporting and alleging such a big accusation, one but atleast try to factor in some truth.

jf 17 formally known as fc 1 didnt start with pakistan in 1984. it was an abandoned china-israel project which was dropped by israel due to technical failures. pakistan picked it up in the mid 90s after agreeing to fund 50% of the project.
error 2:
benazir was not in goverment in 1983 how can she have anything to do with this when she was in oxford doing her master’s degree?
it was not the requirement of pakistan to get a fighter during the afghan war… neither was pakistan under sacntions during the first afghan war!. pakistan got ridiculous amounts of weapons and gunships including cobra helicopters in the 1980s. BTW our beloved f16s were given by america in 1983.!!!! what are u people talking about.the sanctions came first in 1970s for indo pak war… and were withdrawn for the afghan war so that we could get rid of the soviet army. and the sanctions same in the form of the pressler’s agreement in the 1990 when the usa discovered that we had been covertly developing nuclear weapons and had bought m11 missles from china (ghauri).
yes the new air chief marshal was promoted out of line and yes there was massive corruption in the jf17 project. this guy was a friend of zardari and hence was bestowed with the honor. the original contract ws for 250 jf17, but was reduced to 150 as the money for the remainder had already been embezzeled by MoD and some corrupt officers. but the reporting has to be valid with minimum grammatical errors otherwise this whole thing is just a facade.!!!

We are building 70% of our defense equipment locally.We are lacking in developing high-tech systems.A fighter jet developed by Pakistan with China’s help is enough to lay a lot of people in some capiatals sleepless.
I used to wonder how will that prediction of Nabi Pak(SAW)will come true in which he says that the forces of Imam Mehdi(AS)will destroy the HQ of Anti-Christ.But with the technology of Fighter Aircrafts and a superior one,I can see how the prophecy will be fulfilled.
It is really very shameful for this Govt to be involved in such a low form of corruption (if it can be proved).Does the present Air Chief really thinks he deserves to lead our AirForce in the presence of Men like AVM Shahid Lateef who has performed greatest duty to this nation?
