Washington Puts Pressure on India, Which Is Good, But CIA is Killing Pro-Pakistan Tribesmen
While Indians are extremely sensitive about US involvement in Kashmir dispute, they are equally upset over rising US pressure to contain their anti-Pakistan activities in Afghanistan which are causing great concern and anger in Pakistan. Pakistan has now a legitimate excuse that it needs to first take out those assets of TTP who are fighting Pakistan rather than those who are attacking NATO and US forces in Afghanistan. Under the US umbrella, multiple secret services including RAW and Mossad are heavily active in Afghanistan working to send terrorists in Pakistan. In a clear attempt which can be classified as betrayal, US is now desperate to divert Pakistan’s attention from south Waziristan and from Baitullah. US drones have attacked an allied commander of Pakistan, Haji Gul Bahadur, in the northern region forcing him to turn his guns against Pakistan in anger. Is CIA a rogue agency working outside the interests of Washington?

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan—This analysis of Pakistan’s internal and external strategic situation is divided into two parts:
US is desperately trying to convince Indians that it would be good for all if Indians agree to hold talks with Pakistan on Kashmir, close some of their consulates in Afghanistan and thus forcing Pakistan to divert more resources to Afghan side in fight against Taliban.
Indians, while wanting US to put more pressure on Pakistan to contain Kashmiri resistance, are really not interested to give any concession either to US or to Pakistan. They want to fight Pakistan to the last American and giving concessions is not part of the plan. US disappointment is certain on these counts. Indians are simply too shrewd for naïve Americans.

Jones holds anti-terror talks with Indian leaders
—————————————————————-
NEW DELHI, June 26: A top aide of US President Barack Obama held talks with Indian leaders on Friday on Washington’s revamped security policy in the region.
National Security Adviser James Jones, who arrived in New Delhi late on Thursday after stops in Afghanistan and Pakistan, met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Indian National Security Adviser M.K. Narayanan, a government spokesman said…

Last week, we had given the following assessment on the issue and its review would be useful for the larger perspective:
“Indians are not at all happy over US pressure on them to start a dialogue process with Pakistan especially over Kashmir. India is obviously not welcoming it, in fact are seriously irritated by it. Manmohan Singh is expressing his venom and anger towards Pakistan on every international forum as US continues to pile up pressure on Indians. This is getting interesting as Indians always thought that their lobbies and diplomacy can sway US opinion against Pakistan. Here, Pakistan’s strategic geographic location and US reliance upon its supplies through Pakistan is forcing US to accept Pakistani demands to put increased pressure on Indians to close their consulates in Afghanistan and to initiate the stalled peace process.
Indian PM is releasing his frustration against Pakistan as over 40 % Indians remains under various forms of insurgencies, separatist movements and rebellions. Along with Kashmir, now even the North East is flaring up with Maoists extracting heavy toll from Indians security forces. This is Indian nightmare for which they have no remedy but to blame Pakistan.”
So, the Indians continue to blame Pakistan for all their ills, not happy that US seem to be going slow on Pakistan and piling pressure on Delhi.

Peace not one-way traffic, says India
—————————————————————-
By Jawed Naqvi
NEW DELHI, June 25: Peace with Pakistan is very desirable but it cannot be a one-way traffic, Indian Defence Minister A.K. Antony said here on Thursday.
Acknowledging that cross-border infiltration in Kashmir had gone down over the previous years, he urged the armed forces to be alert but to be also prepared for peace…

To release the pressure, Indians also came up with more allegations of support to terror from Pakistan. Mumbai case is another example where Indians tried hard to frame Pakistan but so far have failed to muster international support. Indians are frustrated here as well visibly.

India issues warrants for 22 Mumbai suspects
—————————————————————-
MUMBAI, June 23: An Indian court issued arrest warrants on Tuesday for 22 Pakistani nationals accused of masterminding last year’s deadly Mumbai terrorist attacks, including the founder of a militant group recently freed by a Pakistani court.
An Indian prosecutor demanded that Islamabad extradite all the suspects, though Pakistan has vowed that it will not transfer any Mumbai suspects to India, saying instead it will try them in its own courts…….

But Indians had to face a serious embarrassment when – while they demand Pakistan to hand over Pakistani “terrorists” suspects -, they are demanding leniency for a confirmed convicted Indian terrorist jailed in Pakistan and now on a death row from Supreme Court. Indians are desperate to get the man released whose mercy petition is now with Mr. Zardari, whom India considers as their best friend in Islamabad.

NEW DELHI, June 24: India has urged Pakistan to take a humanitarian view of the case of condemned prisoner Sarabjit Singh whose review petition was rejected on Wednesday by Pakistan’s Supreme Court. Indian Foreign Minister S.M. Krishna said: “We have seen reports that the Pakistan Supreme Court has turned down a review petition regarding the death sentence awarded to Sarabjit Singh. We are not, however, aware of details of this judgment.”……

Indians have well and truly encircled Pakistan from Afghan side. While Indians are extremely sensitive about US involvement in Kashmir dispute, they are equally upset over rising US pressure to contain their anti-Pakistan activities in Afghanistan which are causing great concern and anger in Pakistan. Pakistan has now a legitimate excuse that it needs to first take out those assets of TTP who are waging a war against the State rather than those who are seen as threats by NATO and US forces in Afghanistan. Under the US umbrella, multiple secret services including RAW and Mossad are heavily active in Afghanistan working to send terrorists in Pakistan.
So when Indians ask for transit routes to Afghanistan via Pakistan, the idea is met with fierce resistance in GHQ and among Pakistani patriots. Here we would like to produce a paper by BrassTacks analyst Farzana Shah on Indian desires and its implications for securing a transit route through Pakistan. The paper makes it clear the complexities of Pakistan-US-India relations and their own survival wars, often at the cost of each other, as being fought in Afghanistan. [click here to read the paper].
Giving India trade route or crossing red lines?
Slowly and cautiously, Pakistan armed forces are consolidating their hold around the Waziristan region, isolating Baitullah Mehsud in South to prepare the ground for the final assault on the region. This is going to be a long drawn out bloody campaign where neither side is going to give any quarter to other. The task of Pakistan becoming even more difficult when supply lines of Baitullah remain open from Afghanistan and US and Indian secret services protect him for his damaging role in Pakistan.
Last week we had given the following assessment of the situation as it develops.
“Pakistan now plans to attack and eliminate the most wanted terrorist in the country – Baitullah Mehsud. For the past 8 years, he is waging a terror campaign in the country but not fighting the NATO and US troops in Afghanistan. He is Pakistan’s most wanted terrorist but US drone flown by CIA never target the man or his assets. Every week, multiple drone raids take place and many local militants or their allies are assassinated by CIA but not on Baitullah Mehsud.”
In a clear attempt which can be classified as betrayal, US are now desperate to divert attention of Pakistan from south. US drones have attacked an allied commander of Pakistan, Haji Gul Bahadur, in the northern region forcing him to turn his guns against Pakistan in anger. Gul Bahadur have not opened another front against Pakistan in North.
While US army pretends to feel happy over the operation, the CIA is not. Drones are operated by CIA and not US military and often both follow opposite policies towards militants, just as US army may not have any problem in taking out TTP leader Baitullah but the CIA protect him as their prized asset.

Pakistani assault hurting Taliban: US officer
—————————————————————-
WASHINGTON, June 23: The Pakistan military’s offensive against the Taliban has cut insurgent attacks across the border in eastern Afghanistan, depriving them of a cheap supply of arms, a senior US officer said on Tuesday. “I think there’s a definite impact,” US Colonel John Spiszer, commander of a brigade combat team in northeast Afghanistan, told reporters…….

One thing is definite – the US strategy in the region is not working and the US has hit a blind alley. Now they don’t know where to go from here and there is frantic effort to win back Pakistan army which is now increasingly hostile towards US demands and US objectives in the region. US know that unless they win over Pakistan army once again, their Afghan mission is doomed.

Outrage shows US strategy in Fata not working: lawmaker

By Anwar Iqbal:
WASHINGTON, June 26: The anger and desperation of the displaced people and the growing public outrage over civilian casualties in drone attacks show that the US strategy for fighting insurgency in Pakistan is not working, warns a key lawmaker. Congressman Gary Ackerman, who chairs the House Subcommittee on the Middle East and South Asia, also warned that the US military and economic might could influence government policies but cannot change ground realities…

US is having additional problems in the region. Due to recent Iranians elections, talks between US and Iran have broken down. US continue to criticize Iranian leadership over after elections riots and thus have lost the opportunity to negotiate a transit route for NATO supplies in Afghanistan. That makes US even more vulnerable and dependent upon Pakistan for its vital supplies. This means that now a tough talking Pakistan army can arm twist US to seek reduction of Indian assets and influence in Afghanistan and also to force US to eliminate TTP leadership. Now US are in a serious fix. Iranians elections are a bad omen for US for now.
To add insult to injury, Russians have invited Pakistan and Afghanistan to a Moscow summit, a move which will be seen with great suspicion in Washington and Delhi. This is a brilliant opportunity for Pakistan to forge strategic alliances with China and Russia to pile up additional pressure on US and to come in a hard bargaining position. Things are now really going bad for the Americans. Welcome to the great game once again.
