Identifying the Fault Line

Rising crime rate in our society is alarming, the cause of this rise in crime, is often thought to be poverty, so in order to eliminate crime, minimizing poverty is deemed essential. Illiteracy rate is a major factor which contributes to poverty, so indoor to reduce poverty, literacy rate must be increased, However, the government is unable to spend more on education, because it is a low level priority in the criteria for budget, and some of the principles for this criteria are often dictated by International Monetary institutions like IMF, World Bank etc. And the government must comply with it, as a prerequisite for getting loans. To avoid, international dictation in spending, and resource allocation, the government needs to gain enough revenue to sustain itself and the countries economy without foreign aid. To generate revenues, various taxes need to be enforced, on things as little as crossing a bridge, and eating a candy bar, and other taxes are enforced such as GST and Production Tax. Such taxes, e.g. the production tax and tax on natural resources (oil, gas, water etc), make transportation expensive and causes increase in prices of utility products. Hence they increasingly overburden the poor masses. This in turns pushes certain sections of societies towards poverty, and adds to unemployment, as businesses begin to go down. Thereby further fueling the crime rate. This whirlpool, is self-excited, and itself is a Pandora box to one problem after another. The source for all these problems boils down to one thing alone, and that is the flawed system.

To Take an analogy; for instance, if a person is suffering from aids, as a result of which he is loosing hairs on his head, consults a doctor; should the doctor focus on giving medication for “loosing hairs”? Or should he cure the root cause of disease, which is giving birth to numerous other problems in the body? Naturally, it’s the root cause, the actual disease that needs to be cured.

It therefore, stands to reason, that the only rational approach, is to cure the disease, which gives birth to manifold problems of our society, rather than curing the symptoms. This disease is the fabricated flimsy capitalist system – a rule of law, by men, designed to exploit men. The logical cure, is the re-establishment of an Islamic State, i.e. Khilafah, where the source of law, is not the narrow, finite, self-interest based thought of men, but the source is the infinite wisdom, of the Most Merciful, our Creator, Allah (swt).

Very well said – In just about one page! …I wish more people come to terms with this cure! It seems very hard to achieve sometimes in a sense come to think of it – I was listening to this talk by an imam at the masjid and he pointed out how majority of us as muslims are yet struggling with only the basics ( the five pillars of Islam) – It is a… Read More huge deal for people to only pray five times – Majority haven’t even established the foundation yet!
Hope and Pray that we all get way past the basics at first – then inshAllah the rest would be a walk in the park!

Jzk fr the comments. Indeed as the Prophet(saw) once pointed out:

“The knots of Islam will be broken one by one until everyone of them is undone. The first to be undone will be the knot of ruling and the last will be the knot of Salah” (Musnad of Imam Ahmed)

Without the Khilafah, we find that Islam is evventually uprooted from all spheres of life.
